Education Committee

EDUCATION COMMITTEE
LOOKING FOR PROCTORS

We need your help!  The Education Committee is looking for people to volunteer to proctor educational seminars in every region of the state.  The Committee schedules 14-17 seminars per year throughout the state and needs a proctor to be present during each class.  Most classes require about 4 1/2 hours of time, although some may be longer.  We are looking to form a pool of proctors that can be called upon to work an occasional class when there is no committee member available to do so.

What is a proctor?  The proctor is responsible for:

  • Coordinating with the Education Coordinator to get class information prior to the session
  • Setting up the room for the seminar, which may include moving tables and chairs and setting up projectors and podiums prior to the start of the session
  • Providing refreshments (reimbursement will be issued)
  • Overseeing sign in and sign out of all registrants
  • Introducing the class, organization and instructors to attendees
  • Monitoring the class and handing out/collecting evaluation forms
  • Break down/clean up after the session
  • Reporting back to the Education Coordinator after the session

Although you cannot earn CEUs while proctoring a seminar (per IACET guidelines), MWWA will offer volunteers a certificate good toward taking a class of comparable CEUs to the one proctored (cannot be used toward Membership Meetings).  If this is something you are interested in, please contact Michele Murch, Education Coordinator, at 978-263-1388 or adminmwwa@verizon.net.
