Proper Hydrant Operation & MaintenanceCourse ID: MWWA 22-003Hydrants are the most visible component of a water system. They are used to fight fires, flush pipelines and occasionally used to supply water to trucks or other construction equipment. Improper installation, repair or maintenance can lead to inadequate flow or failure which may result in a life-threatening situation when fighting a fire. Attendees will see a display of the hydrant components as wells as the tools and parts used for repair and maintenance. An overview of performing hydrant flushing and flow testing will also be presented. This is a great class for any new operators that will be involved in the installation, repair, and maintenance of hydrants.
